Rembrandt Harmens van Rijn (Dutch: Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn; July 15, 1606 - October 4, 1669) was a Dutch painter, engraver, great master of chiaroscuro, the largest representative of the golden age of Dutch painting. He managed to embody in his works the whole spectrum of human experiences with such emotional intensity, which fine art had not known before.
